Aida Jimenez Vargas De Cuesta, 91, of Hagerstown, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Williamsport Retirement Village, where she has resided for the last six years.
Born December 2, 1927, in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Ramona Vargas De Jimenez. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Luis Felipe Cuesta, who died January 4, 1981.
After high school, Aida became a talented beautician and seamstress. She was very creative in both endeavors. Her family was the most important aspect of her life; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by her children, Luis M. Cuesta of CA., Felipe A. Cuesta of FL., Rafael E. Cuesta of PA., and Aida M. Cuesta-Bodine of MD; 11 grandchildren, Madaleine Hayes, Luna Cuesta, Felipe Cuesta, Alejandro Cuesta MD, Rafael Cuesta, Antonio Cuesta, Emilio Cuesta, Manuel Cuesta, Jaime Delgado, David Delgado, and Marco Delgado; 23 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service and again following the burial at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Aida's name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
