Alan Layton Hayzlett

Alan Layton Hayzlett, of York, Pa., passed away Wednesday Oct. 11, 2017 at York Hospital.
He was born May 16, 1958 in Hagerstown, Md. to Margrett S. Hayzlett and the late Dr. Hillard J. Hayzlett.
Alan attended Saint James School, and continued his education at the University of Maryland. He was employed by Mack Trucks and finished his career with K&W Tires in York, Pa.
Alan enjoyed the outdoors, canoeing and fishing with his father, brothers and friends. He had a passion for cooking, especially during those holidays spent with family. He loved music, particularly The Eagles, and enjoyed playing guitar. He had a big heart, and was confident in his faith. Alan will be missed by all who knew him.
Alan is survived by his wife Diane Hayzlett, York, PA., and their dog Jax. His mother Margrett S. Hayzlett of Williamsport, MD., two brothers, Stephen D. Hayzlett and wife Julie of Murfreesboro, Tn., and Jeffrey T. Hayzlett and wife Dawn of Greencastle, PA., 5 nephews, 2 nieces, and 5 great nephews, 2 great nieces.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate Alans life on Saturday, Oct 28, 11:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Anne Weatherholt will officiate.
