Albert Schlosser Gruber

Hagerstown, MD Albert Schlosser Gruber, 100, of Hagerstown, passed away, Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown.

Born December 7, 1913 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late, Frederick D. and Cora (Garver) Gruber. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his wife Sue E. (Linder) Gruber; four brothers, Rev. Dr. Lavely D. Gruber, Joseph Gruber, Walter G. Gruber and Grayson Gruber; three sisters, Mabel L. Devilbiss, Mildred Beall and Margaret Clagget.

Mr. Gruber retired in 1979 with 50 years of service as supervisor of engineering at the Pangborn Corporation, Hagerstown.

He was a life member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, Hagerstown where he belonged to the Board, the United Methodist Men and helped form the Wesleyan Class in 1939; B.P.O. Elks # 378, Hagerstown; a member of the Southern Engineers and the Al Gruber Club Royal Orchestra for 30 years.

He is survived by a son, Albert Marshall Gruber and wife JoAnn of Hagerstown and a granddaughter, Heather N. Gruber of Waynesboro.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Patrick Ricker and Rev. Dr. Raymond Moreland officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will received at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Albert's name to John Wesley United Methodist Church, 129 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
