Aldo Clemente Della Mea, 88, of Hagerstown, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 2, 1928 in Udine, Italy, he was the son of the late Carlo and Giorgina (Marcon) Della Mea.
Aldo retired from Maccaferri Gabions, where he worked for almost 40 years as vice president.
He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Hagerstown.
Aldo is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Edda Della Mea; four children, Giorgina Young of Hagerstown, Francesca Della Mea of Hagerstown, Carlo Della Mea and wife Edan of Wellington, FL., Vittorio Della Mea of Hagerstown; five granddaughters, Brittany Young, Cristina Young, Elena Della Mea of Hagerstown, and Ava and Alexa Della Mea of Wellington, FL.; and several extended family in Rome, Udine, Italy, and also Canada.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Vittorio Della Mea.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday, April 25, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave, Hagerstown,with Monsignor Bruce Jarboe as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the mass at church and again following the burial at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel.
