Alverta May Vulgamott

Alverta May (Misner) Vulgamott, 91, of Waynesboro, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Paramount Senior Living, in Fayetteville.
Born September 6, 1927 in Quincy, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Bertha (Switzer) Misner.
Alverta enjoyed gardening and was a wonderful baker. She lived for her children.
She is survived by two sons, Luther Vulgamott, Jr. of Ft. Loudon, Ronald D. Vulgamott of Greencastle; four daughters, Susan M. Auchmoody of Waynesboro, Georgia M. Gochenauer of Chambersburg, Theresa A. Davis of West Viriginia, Bertha Jean Burkett of Hagerstown; a brother, Russell Misner of Mont Alto; a sister, Lula Staley of Fayetteville; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Bowman.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Luther L. Vulgamott, Sr., who died November 7, 2012; a son, David W. Vulgamott; a daughter, Roberta L. Breon; two brothers; and three sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30am on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
