Amy Sue Ruthrauff Black 49 of Hagerstown, Md, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, Nov 7, 2015, at Meritus Medical Center, after complications from a stroke brought on by undiagnosed diabetes. Born Dec 13, 1965 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Harold Charles and Doris Elizabeth Myers Ruthrauff. She was the wife of RL Black Jr married April 14, 2003. She attended South Hagerstown High School receiving her GED in 1984. She had previously worked for the Herald-Mail Company and later in private homes helping the elderly as a caregiver. She is survived by her sisters, Jewel Ruthrauff (Kevin) of Williamsport, Sharon Sollenberger (Alvey) of Sharpsburg, and by her brothers, Terry Ruthrauff (Kristyn) of Grenada, West Indies, Robert Ruthrauff of Ocean City, and Charles Ruthrauff (Pauline) of Chambersburg. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Amy loved children and looked forward to meeting her newest nephew. She also loved cats, befriending one, hours before she took ill. Not to forget, her love for shopping the thrift stores for a good deal. She also spent many hours sewing her clothes and baking. Admirably, she was a tissue donor. The family would like to thank the nurses in ICU 4 West for their excellent care of our dear little sister and the kindness they all extended to the family. A service will be held at Rest Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 11am with Rev. Patrick Ricker officiating. Friends will be received an hour before. She will be buried with her parents in Rest Haven Cemetery. On Sunday Nov. 15 there will be a getogether for family and friends at the Williamsport Moose Lodge from 6-8pm.
