Ardella May Sweigert

Ardella May (McKee) Sweigert, 88, of Hagerstown, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Homewood at Williamsport.
Born November 20, 1924 in Beaver Creek, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Lula May (Newcomer) McKee.
Ardella was a 1943 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She worked as a secretary for Potomac Edison before she went to work for the Washington County Hospital for 15 years in the Central Service Dept.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Hagerstown where she served as an elder.
Ardella is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Luther B. Sweigert; two daughters, Judith M. Wagner and husband C. Richard Wagner of South Boston, VA, Nancy J. Nally and husband Paul Z. Nally, Jr. of Hagerstown; two granddaughters, Rebecca Catherine Simmerman and husband Timothy, Sara Elizabeth Dorsey and husband Jeremy; a great grandson, Timothy James "TJ" Simmerman; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Frank Newcomer McKee and 10 half brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 1:00pm at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Steven L. Johns-Boehme officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 7-9pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
