B. Jean Swomley, 79, of Owings Mills, died on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at her daughter's home.
Born December 17, 1933 in Bakersville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Nettie Jane (King) Greene.
She had worked as a hostess at the Suburban House in Pikesville, MD.
Jean is survived by her two children, Suzan Moore of Owings Mills and John Davis of Reisterstown; a brother, J.D. Greene; four sisters, Edith Hipsley, Eula Brown, Georgia Ellis, and Carol Wilson; seven grandchildren, Joey Davis, Steven Davis, Jared Davis, Emma Davis, Chrissy Davis, Kelsey Davis, Heather Holman and her husband, Allen Holman; and several other extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Greene and Earshal Greene; two sisters, Emma Lee Miller and Ilene Bernardini; a grandson, Ryan Davis-Shanahan; and a granddaughter, Aubrey Davis.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Mark C. Mooney officiating. Inurnment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
