Barbara Ann Jeter

Barbara Ann (Shields) Jeter, 75, of Hagerstown, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at her home while surrounded by her family.
Born January 13, 1940, in Abilene, TX, she was the daughter of the late Champ Clark and Dorothy Mae (Allen) Shields.
Barbara attended high school in Dallas.
She was a member of Lifehouse Church; Ladies of the Elk's and Civil Air Patrol. She worked as a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Ronald Houston Jeter, who died February 27, 2007; a son, Dale Jeter; a granddaughter, Denise Roof; and a sister, Beverly McKiddy.
Barbara is survived by two sons, Ronald Jeter and wife Carola of Hagerstown, Kevin Jeter and wife Sandy of Smithsburg; a daughter-in-law, Donna Jeter of Smithsburg; a sister, Patsy Blakney; a brother, Darrel Sheilds both of Dallas; three sister-in-laws, Joyce Jones of Plano, TX, Geraldine Andrews of Dallas, TX, Debbie Lawrence of Rockwell, TX; five grandchildren, Erika Jeter Hudson, Ashley Jeter Montoya, Andrew Jeter, Catherine Jeter, Dennis Roof; and six great-grandchildren, Michaela Hudson, Mahala Hudson, Noah Montoya, Ian Roof, Chandler Roof, and Marley Roof.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Julie Bringham officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6-8pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
