Barbara Ann Mills

Barbara Ann (Morningstar) Mills, 70, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born Nov. 25, 1941, in Ranson, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late David Hudghel and Daisy Bell (Johnson) Morningstar.
She worked as a homemaker.
Barbara loved her Indian heritage and faithfully donated to St. Joseph's Indian School in South Dakota. She enjoyed family gatherings and seeing her children together. She also liked to socialize with her neighbors.
Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Lauren D. Mills, who passed away May 10, 2012.
She is survived by two daughters, Tanna M. Sharrah and husband, Paul, and Tracy L. Gelwicks and husband, Tim; a son, Mark A. Mills; a sister, Betty Crawford and husband, Russell; eight grandchildren, Ronald L. Renner Jr., Heather M. Sharrah, Dwayne A. Renner, Mark A. Mills Jr., Justin W. Renner, Lauren A. Draper, Blaine A. Gelwicks and Brooke N. Gelwicks; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Lauren D. Mills; five sisters, Katherine Demory, Violet Myers, Mamie Robison, Elsie Mahone and Connie Short; and three brothers, John Morningstar, Bobby Morningstar and Gene Morningstar.
A funeral service will be Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Mark C. Mooney officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
