Betty Alberta Starleper

Betty Alberta Starleper, 84, of Hagerstown, passed away, Wednesday, January, 17, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born December 1, 1933 in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late, Leonard W. and Dolly (Jones) Embly. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Starleper, Sr.; three children, James M. Starleper, Jr., David W. Starleper, Sr. and Dolly A. (Starleper) Stotelmyer; two brothers, Joey and Leonard Embly.
Mrs. Starleper was a member of Benevola United Methodist Church, Boonsboro where she sang in the senior choir.
She retired from the Washington County Board of Education with 34 years of service where she was a school bus driver.
She is survived by three brothers, Ritchie, Charlie and Bobbie Embly; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and her son in law, Douglas L. Stotelmyer.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Cindy Caldwell officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7-9 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to the Benevola United Methodist Church,19925 Benevola Church Rd., Boonsboro, MD 21713.
