Betty Marie Kendle

Betty Marie (Crawford) Kendle, 83, of Hagerstown, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010.
Born Sept. 30, 1927, in Kemp Mill, of Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Blanche Edna (Miller) Crawford.
She was a homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for her family.
She was of the Protestant faith.
Betty is survived by her husband, Preston M. Kendle Jr., and would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on Jan. 18. She is also survived by a daughter, Dixie Smith and husband Gary of Williamsport; a son, Melford Kendle and wife Angie of Greencastle, Pa.; three grandchildren, Shannon Hose and husband Steve of Martinsburg, W.Va., Holly McKenrick and husband Ted, and Randy W. Kendle, all of Hagerstown; four great-grandchildren, Lakyn Hose, Taylor Hose, Shayla McKenrick, and Randy P. Kendle; a brother, Glenn Crawford, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Preston Kendle; two sisters, Frances Grimes and June Thomas; and three brothers, Fred Crawford, John Crawford, and Irvin Crawford.
Friends and family will be received on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Funeral services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
