Betty P. Tripp (Barkley), 85, of Hagerstown, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Shady Grove Hospital, Rockville, Md.
Born Dec. 5, 1926, in Huttonsville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Pritt.
Betty had worked as a food service supervisor for the Washington County Hospital and the Western Maryland Hospital Center, and most recently was a secretary for the Northspring Apartment Complex.
She was a member of Cedar Lawn Missionary Church.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Barkley of Germantown, Md., and Ed Barkley of Greencastle, Pa.; five grandchildren, Matthew and Joseph Barkley of Baltimore, Dustin and Kellie Barkley of Greencastle, and Steven Barkley of Hagerstown; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Tripp; her divorced husband, Richard Barkley Sr.; and two sons, Richard Barkley Jr. and Michael Barkley.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Stephen Robison officiating.
Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
