Betty Ruth Swope

Betty Ruth (Kepler) Swope, 92, of Boonsboro, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born August 23, 1924, in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late D. Ralph and Ruth Esther (Schildknecht) Kepler.
Betty enjoyed sewing and retired from London Fog as a seamstress.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Edward Daniel Swope, who passed away on May 5, 2014; four sisters, Eva Leatherman, Miriam Wolfe, Cleo Bowman, Alberta Kepler; and a grandson, Thomas Grams, III.
Betty is survived by seven children, Betty Green of Hagerstown, Audrey House amd husband Harry of Boonsboro, Danny Swope of Hagerstown, Sue Grove and husband Eddie of Downsville, Trish Wampler and husband Frank of Hagerstown, Bill Swope of Boonsboro, and Sonny Swope and wife Shelly of Boonsboro; a brother, Daniel Kepler of Middletown; a sister, Hazel Early of Wolfesville; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a great-great-great-grandson; and her faithful dog and cats, Penny, Max, and Boots.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Rev. Mark Waldron officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 6-8pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
