Biagio DiMercurio

Biagio DiMercurio, 89, of Hagerstown, Md, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at his home.
Born in Partinico, Sicily on February 25, 1929, he was a son of the late Giuseppa (Di Liberto) and Salvatore DiMercurio. In addition to his parents, Biagio is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Caterina DiMercurio and his brother, Gaspare DiMercurio.
Biagio was a member for St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church here in Hagerstown, the Hagerstown Elks Lodge 378, and the Sons of Italy in the Martinsburg and Hagerstown Chapter. He was known as the local champ of Bocci around the neighborhood.
Biagio is survived by two sons, Sal DiMercurio, M.D. and wife Jean R. DiMercurio, Dom DiMercurio and wife Donna DiMercurio all of Hagerstown; 7 grandchildren, Erica, Kristin, Michael, Phillip, Melissa, Dominick II and Nicholas; one sister, Benedetta DiMercurio Manno and Husband Gaspare' brother-in-law Peter Greco and wife Nancy; and Nephew Dominick Greco.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 4 to 7 pm at Rest Haven Funeral Home Inc., 1601 Pennsylvania Ave Hagerstown Md 21742.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday June 4, 2018 at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church 1525 Oak Hill Ave, Hagerstown, Md 21742. Entombment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery at 12:00 noon.
The family wishes to thank the following persons, Hospice of Washington County, the special women who cared for Biagio so diligently over the last couple months, Dr. S. Chan and the Hagerstown Elks Lodge 378.

"Nonno" as he was known to many, never knew a stranger, and was always quick with a smile to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
