Hagerstown, MD Carl Leonard Christy, 81, of Hagerstown, passed away, Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Julia Manor Healthcare Center, Hagerstown.
Born September 1, 1931 in Hiedelberg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Lawson and Harriet (Triebach) Christy.
Mr. Christy retired as a Quality Assurance Specialist with the Civil Service in the Aero Space field.
He was catholic by faith and loved to golf and swim.
He is survived by five children, Patricia Christy Anderson of Denver Co., Joan Davey of Grand Junction, Co., Robert Christy and wife Sandy of Hagerstown, William Christy of Waynesboro and John Christy of Apex, NC; one brother, Lawson "Bud" Christy of Florida; one sister, Leona Quinn of Plattsburgh, NY; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Lillian Theresa (Winski) Christy.
Funeral services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
