Carla Ann (Herring) Tabler, 64, of Hagerstown, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at Golden Living Nursing Center.
Born Sept. 30, 1947, in Thornton, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey Lavoy and Joene (Bassett) Herring.
She had worked with the same business under different names for more than 20 years before it became known as Carla's Deli. She retired as a manager after 16 years of service.
She was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Club. Carla loved her family and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Tabler; a son, Kelly Tabler; two granddaughters, Allison McNabb and husband, Josh, and Alexis Poper; and two great-grandchildren, Skylan and Joshua McNabb, all of Hagerstown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Tabler.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Tim Fisher officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
