Catherine Louise (Dunn) Winters, 94, of Hagerstown, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at the home of her granddaughter, Lana Cowgill, who gave her love and care for the past 2 1/2 years.
Born Jan. 17, 1918, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Margaret Louise (Guessford) Dunn.
Catherine attended Locust Level Full Gospel Church in Greencastle, Pa.
Her loving husband of 49 years, Jack Winters, preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1984.
Catherine is survived by six children, Delores L. Seal of Terre Haute, Ind., Jacqueline Shifflett and husband, David, of Greencastle, Margaret Clark and husband, Roger, of Hagerstown, Betty Carter of Hagerstown, a son, Ronald L. Winters and wife, Kathy, of Hawaii, and Barbara Snowberger and husband, Kenny, of Waynesboro, Pa.; 27 grandchildren, three of whom she raised, Alisa Fox, Ronald McElroy and Alice McElroy; 49 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Catherine was preceded in death by her son, David Winters.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Robert V. Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
