Charles Leroy Werking, 89, of Williamsport, MD passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his home.
Born on November 17, 1931 in Leitersburg, MD, he was the son of the late Frances (Lantz) and Albert Werking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister; Delores Fuss.
Charles graduated from Hagerstown High School, class of 1950.
Charles served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Charles worked as an Assistant Vice President for Susquehanna Bank until retirement.
He was a member of Williamsport American Legion, Post 202, VFW Post 1936, and AmVets Post 10.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Edna Joann (DeHaven) Werking, Daughter; Kimberly Omps of Winchester, VA, Son; Darin Werking of Stephens City, VA, Granddaughter; Devin Gaither, and Brother Albert Werking of Williamsport, MD.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Mark Mooney officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Women's Auxillary Scholarship fund at Williamsport American Legion, Post 202, 400 American Legion Ave. Williamsport, MD 21795.
