Charles M. Kauffman

Charles Marvin Kauffman, 75, of Hagerstown, passed away, Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.

Born August 7, 1939 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Warren E. and Viola May (Stottlemyer) Kauffman. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Catherine M. Hendrickson Kauffman; two infant daughters; four brothers,Warren, Jr., Larry, Garry and Richard Kauffman; four sisters, Stella Clark, Genevieve Merl, Agnes Rudsill and Lola Myers.

Charlie worked at Lutherville Supply from 1960-1982 then at Valley Supply until his retirement in 2005.

He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 378, Hagerstown, where he volunteered a lot of his time working on the grounds committee, loving to mow and making sure the grounds looked as beautiful as he could with other committee members, also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Williamsport Lodge 2462, The Goodwill Athletic Association Inc. and the Washington County Sports Hall of Fame.

Charlie is survived by his girl friend, Gloria J. Burress of Hagerstown; one son, David L. Kauffman (Tammy) of Hagerstown; two daughters, Judy Ann Reese of Hagerstown and Denise L. Deneen (Steven) of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; four grandchildren, Tasha and Tessa Deneen, Charles Reese and Cody Allen Brandell.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Mike McNamee of Faith Christian Fellowship officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 P.M. where the B.P.O. Elks 378 will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 P.M.
