Charles Richard "Skee" Miller, 62, of Hagerstown, died on Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at his home.
Born Dec. 15, 1948, in Sharpsburg, Md., he was the son of the late John E. and Mildred L. (Thomas) Miller.
Charles was a 1966 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
He worked as a utility foreman at F.O. Day Co., in Rockville, Md., for 25 years. He was currently working for Shirley Construction in Lorton, Va.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Miller Kersh; a son, Bronwyn F. Miller of Falling Waters, W.Va.; three sisters, Sandra J. Henson, Susan R. McGlaughlin and Shirley A. Cook; two brothers, Ronald E. Miller and Samuel G. Miller; a grandson, Bailey J. Miller; two foster sisters, Doris Stallings of Sharpsburg and Connie Church of Fairplay; and two foster brothers, Samuel G. Thomas of Boonsboro and Raymond F. Thomas of Brunswick.
In addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by a brother, John Elmer Miller Jr.; a grandson, Devon A. Gerolimos who died in 2009; two foster sisters, Bonnie K. Miller and Virginia M. Keesecker; and one foster brother, Henry Keesecker.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Darrell L. Layman officiating. Inurnment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
