Charlotte Romaine Horst

Hagerstown, MD Charlotte Romaine Horst, 93, of Hagerstown, passed away, Friday February 21, 2014 at her home.
Born May 4, 1920 in Roxbury, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Wilbur Paul Harp and Pauline S. (Walters) Harp Bennett. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, William Earnshaw Horst, Sr. and two sisters, Katherine Harp and Doris E. Miller.
Mrs. Horst retired as a supervisor of home health care at the Washington County Health Department.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Hagerstown; the Antietam and Conococheague Chapters of the D.A.R. and the Hagerstown Women's Club. Her hobbies included playing bridge and gardening.
She is survived by one son, William E. Horst, Jr. and wife Carolyn D. Horst of Greencastle; three grandchildren, Michelle Tuttle (Lewis) of Queenstown, Md., Cynthia Marconi (Keith) of Greencastle and Julie Wampler (Tim) of Suffolk, Va.; four great grandchildren, Annaliese and Katharine Tuttle, Racheal and Ryan Marconi; nephew and niece, Perry and Priscilla Miller of Hagerstown; two great nieces, Lynne Shockley of Richmond, Va. and Benelle Hammer of Smithsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Steven Johns-Boehme officiating.
Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Charlotte's name to the Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742 or to First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
