Clarence Leo "Pete" Bible, 73, of Hagerstown, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born Nov. 3, 1938, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Frank Bible and Evelyn Bible Sampsell.
Pete retired as a machine operator for Mack Trucks, Hagerstown, and also operated his own hydraulic repair business.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lorna D. (Boyer) Bible; two sons, Tim L. Bible and wife, Patricia, of Hagerstown, Rodney D. Bible and wife, Cynthia, of Smithsburg; three sisters, Evelyn Hollida of Martinsburg, W.Va., Sharon McCormick of Morgantown, W.Va., and Karen Bennett of Cumberland, Md.; four brothers, Frank Bible of North Carolina, Carl Bible of Florida, Harold Bible of Hagerstown, and Kenneth Perry of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Johnathan Bible and wife, Crystal, of Florida, Billy Keckler, Gary Barr, Shanna Wright, all of Hagerstown; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Lynn Bible; and one sister, Shirley Wiley.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, June 11, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. John Schildt officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received Saturday, June 9, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home, and again one hour prior to the service Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Pete's name to the American Heart Association, 415 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
