Cleatys Sherwood Stottlemyer

Cleatys Sherwood Stottlemyer, Jr., 71, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at his home.
Born in Frederick, Md on June 11, 1946, he was the son of the late Alice Ann (Haines) and Cleatys Sherwood Stottlemyer, Sr. In addition to his parents, Cleatys is preceded in death by two sisters, Sherry Ann Stottlemyer and Debra Sue Poore; and his beloved dogs, Abby and Sugar.
He was a graduate from South Hagerstown High, class of 1964.
Cleatys was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He worked for 20 years with IBM as a computer operator.
He was a member of First Church of God and loved long walks, talking politics, reading and NASCAR. He was an avid Jeff Gordon fan.
He is survived by his brother, Richard Stottlemyer (Carolyn); nephew, Scott Stottlemyer; aunt Judy Marlin (Ted Swope); and cousin Robert L. Anderson (Andrea).
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc. 1601 Pennsylvania Ave Hagerstown, MD 21742. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received one hour prior at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any Alzheimer or Leukemia foundations of ones choice.
