Dave Bond, Jr.

Forrest Montaque Bond, Jr., affectionally known as "Dave", entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at his home in Hagerstown.
Born June 14, 1933 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Forrest Montaque Bond, Sr. and Viola Virginia (Itnyre) Bond.
Dave attended Hagerstown High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy.
He was a member of Calvary Grace Brethren Church. Dave retired from Hagerstown Grace Brethren Church after many years, working alongside his wife Delores, in the custodial dept. After retirement, he enjoyed working as a shuttle driver for Hoffman Automotive.
Dave enjoyed trains, teaching Sunday school, and doing landscaping work around his home.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Delores Marie (Carter) Bond; three children, Forrest Bond III, Ronald Bond and wife Sandy, Tammy Reid and husband Mike, all of Hagerstown; sister, Regina "Jean" Stoneberger and husband Grover "Jr." of Chewsville; brother-in-law, Howard Carter Jr. and wife Cindy of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Joshua Bond and wife Lauren, Sarah Pitek and husband Chris, Katie Rhone; and three great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn Charlotte Bond, Adrianna Elizabeth Bond, and Marlee Reasner.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three siblings, Robert Bond, Agnes Doherty, Donald Bond; and a grandson, Forrest M. Bond IV.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Jay Fretz officiating. Interment will follow with military honors being accorded by the Maryland State Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
