David Ward Pierce, 74, of Hagerstown, passed away, Friday, December 25, 2015 at his home.
Born January 10, 1941 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Ward Blair and Margaret Lucille (MaGaha) Pierce.
David was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He retired with 44 years of service as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.
He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown and served on the Usher's Guild.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Nancy Ann (McKee) Pierce; one son, Christopher A. Pierce of Baltimore and one brother, Michael Pierce of Sharpsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Edward Heim officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David's name to the Maryland Food Bank-Western Branch, 220 McRand Court, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
