Debra Diane Bere

March 8, 1952 — April 21, 2016

Debra Diane (Gluck) Bere went home to be with her Savior on April 21, 2016 at the age of 64.

Born March 8, 1952 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Mary Madeline Gluck.

She graduated from Smithsburg High School. Debbie was a member of Cornerstone Community Church, formerly Hagerstown Grace Brethren Church.

Debbie married Charles Bere, the love of her life and best friend in 1995 after two children and many years together. She was a loving mother and wife. She wanted nothing but the best for her daughters. She recently became a grandmother and enjoyed every moment she had with her "little sweet heart", Claire. She was a good, loyal friend and she always enjoyed a good visit with friends and loved ones.

In addition to her husband, Charles Bere, she is also survived by her loving daughters, Jessica Gower and husband Michael, Shelly Bere; a granddaughter, Claire Gower; a sister, Lois Walls of Williamsport; a sister-in-law, Shirley Crouse and husband Norman of Wolfsville; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Rennes Gluck, Jr.; sister-in-law, Bonnie Bere; and a brother-in-law, Arthur Lewis.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Rev. Brad Nigh officiating. Family and friends are welcome to attend the celebration of Debbie's life.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service inside Rest Haven Funeral Chapel and again following the burial for a reception.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Debbie's name to Rest Haven, address above, to defray funeral expenses.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful nurses and caregivers at Golden Living Center in Hagerstown and Hospice of Washington County for all of their love and support for Debbie and the family.
