Dixie Lou (Stevens) Smith, 60, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 15, 1949, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Jack Hobert and Janis Ella (Ardinger) Stevens.
She worked as an account manager at Bowers Insurance Co. in Hagerstown for 20 years and previously worked at Hoffman Insurance Co. for 20 years.
Dixie was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Redmen in Williamsport.
She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Robert L. Smith Jr.; a daughter, Mary D. Geisbert; a son, Robert L. Smith III; a brother, Joseph R. Stevens, all of Hagerstown; six grandchildren, Wayne L. Jr. and Kaitlin L. Geisbert, Justin, Cody and Emily Smith, and Matthew Hillabrand.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Richard Hembrock officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
