Dolly Aberta (Starleper) Stotelmyer
Dolly Aberta (Starleper) Stotelmyer, 56, of Boonsboro, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Meritus Medical Center.
Born November 25, 1957 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Betty (Embly) Starleper of Hagerstown and the late James M. Starleper, Sr.
She was a 1975 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.
She held various positions with Bon Ton in the Valley Mall (formerly Eyerly's) for 39 years, most recently as the floor manager in the home department. She was a devoted Bon Ton employee and was well liked and loved by everyone.
Dolly was a former Girl Scout. She enjoyed ceramics; riding her motorcycle; and most importantly to her was being a devoted wife, daughter and aunt. She was a member of Benevola United Methodist Church.
In addition to her mother, Betty, Dolly is also survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Douglas L. Stotelmyer; a God daughter, Brandy Marie Starleper; three nephews, David Starleper, Jr. and wife Katie, Jason Starleper and wife Ruby, Justin Hamilton and wife Maggie; two great-nieces; and two great-nephews. She helped raise and was a second mother to her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, David William Starleper and James Milton Starleper, Jr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00am on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 16011 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Pastor Helen Smith and Pastor John Dean officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. A reception will be held at Benevola United Methodist Church following the burial.
Friends will be received from 6-8pm on Friday at the funeral home.
