Don Albert South, 92, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, in Hagerstown.
Born in Funkstown, Md on October 24, 1925, he was a son of the late Fern O. (Stotler) and Hubert R. South. In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his three siblings; Bob South, Orabelle Gross, and Bill South.
Don was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II. Later, he received his Bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Maryland.
Don was a member of First Christian Church, Hagerstown Elks Lodge 378 and the Morris Frock American Legion Post 42. He loved golf and was an avid Orioles and Redskins fan.
He is survived by his loving wife T. Delores (Davis) South; son, Daryl A. South (Holly Stone); daughter, Donna McKinney; two grandsons; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc., 1601 Pennsylvania ave. Hagerstown. Entombment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Don's name to a charity of ones choice or to First Christian Church 1345 Potomac Ave, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
