Donald Eugene Clipp, 57, of Hagerstown, died on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at his home.

Born March 9, 1954, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late David Edwin and Catherine Louise (Foltz) Clipp.

He was a 1972 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

With his brother, Donald had owned and operated the 7-Eleven convenience store, located on Salem Avenue in Hagerstown, for 25 years.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in which he was a participant in the disciples class. Donald was a fan of the horse races in Charles Town and loved the Baltimore Orioles and the Washginton Redskins. He also enjoyed watching his grandsons play Little League baseball. For the past 17 years, Donald played the part of Santa Claus on Christmas morning at Coffman Nursing Home in Hagerstown.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret L. Clipp; a daughter, Candace Shuck; a son, Matthew Clipp; a daughter, Lacey Clipp, all of Hagerstown; a twin brother, Ron Clipp and wife, Beth, of Williamsport; three grandchildren, Trevor, Joel and Riley; a nephew, Tim, who is serving overseas in the Navy, and his family; and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Grace United Methodist Church, 712 W. Church St., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Clark D. Carr officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, and one hour prior to the service at the church
