Donald W. Ridenour

Maugansville, MD Donald Wilbur Ridenour, 79, of Maugansville, passed away, Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at NMS Healthcare, Hagerstown.

Born January 1, 1935 in Greensburg, Maryland, he was the son of the late, Daniel Edward and Margaret (Miller) Ridenour. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by one son, Franklin W. Ridenour; one sister, Evelyn Beatty; two brothers, James E. Ridenour, Sr. and Frankie Ridenour.

Mr. Ridenour was employed as a furniture repair man and carpet installer for Hi-Way Furniture, formally of Hagerstown and later was employed by Brewer's Saab of Maugansville.

He was a member of Salem Reformed Church, Hagerstown and a lifetime member of the Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company.

Mr. Ridenour was a 1953 graduate of Smithsburg High School.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce E. (Brewer) Ridenour; one son, Phillip G. Ridenour and wife Jeannie of Maugansville; one sister, Linda Wilson and husband George of South Mountain, Pa.; a daughter in law, Nancy L. Ridenour of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Heather, Jaime and Chris; five great grandchildren and his faithful K-9 companion, Buddy.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Steve Wagoner officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Friday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
