Doris Harple Robertson, 87, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born Aug. 11, 1925, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Omer and Bessie Myrtle (Lantz) Arnsparger.
She was a 1943 graduate of Hagerstown High School and then went on to graduate from Hagerstown Beauty School.
Doris was the owner and operator of the Doris Beauty Salon in Hagerstown for 50 years.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church; a past member of Dixon-Troxell American Legion Auxiliary Post 211 of Funkstown; and was past president and vice president of Hagerstown AARP Chapter 623 from 2007 to 2011.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow "Woody" F. Robertson.
She is survived by a daughter, Jayne "Chris" Harple of Titusville, Fla.; a son, Thomas William Harple and wife, Kathy, of Hagerstown; a granddaughter, Dayna Ann Gregory and husband, Bill; a sister, Jane E. Priest; and two nephews, Tyler Priest and wife, Sherrie, all of Hagerstown, and Lantz "Lanny" Priest and wife, Elaine, of Woodbine, Md.
Doris enjoyed making comfort dolls for the Seniors and Law Enforcement Together Organization.
A graveside service will be Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Clark Carr officiating. Fellowship and refreshments will be held following the graveside service at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel.
