Doris Martin Horst

Doris Martin Horst, 91, of Sandy Spring, Maryland, passed away, Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Brooke Grove Assisted Living, Sandy Spring.
Born July 18, 1927 in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late, Clyde and Edna (Stickler) Martin. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Horst and a sister, Patricia Ann Martin.
Mrs. Horst was a member of the Hagerstown Church of the Brethren where she was a long time Sunday School teacher and an affiliate member of the Inter-Faith Chapel, Silver Spring, Md. She was a life member of the Fahrney-Keedy Home Auxiliary and a past member of Fountain Head Country Club.
In addition to being a homemaker she had worked as an operator and in the business office of C & P Telephone, Hagerstown.
Mrs. Horst is survived by three children, Patricia H. Llewellyn (Victor), Timothy P. Horst (Jennifer) and Amy H. Swartz (Kenton) all of Rockville, Md.; step daughter, Barbara Conran (Ron) of Ellicott City, Md.; two brothers, Richard and James Martin, both of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren, Megan, Paul, Heather, Hannah, Kurtis, Mason, Konrad, Anna and Mark; three great grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 A.M.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Dr. Robert Norris officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Brooke Grove Foundation Inc. 18100 Slade School Rd., Sandy Spring MD 20860.
