Dorothy Elizabeth Reed

Dorothy E. (Pryor) Reed, 77, of Hagerstown, beloved wife and mother, was called home to be with the Lord, at 10:20 A.M., Monday, March 6, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born September 17, 1939 in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late, Robert F. and Edna C. (Gesford) Pryor. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by, two sisters, Nancy Monn in 2001 and Joan Bream in 2015 and one brother, Kenneth Pryor in 2010.
She attended Waynesboro Area Schools.
She worked at the knitting mill in Waynesboro and retired from Walmart in Hagerstown.
She was a member of North Side Mennonite Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by her husband, Jack L. Reed whom she married April 19, 1974; two daughters, Cathy A. (Summers) Spies and husband, Jeff of Waynesboro and Lori L. (Reed) Shirk and husband John "J.D." of Hagerstown; two sisters, Janice McLaughlin of Fairfield, Pa. and Linda Bibb of Waynesboro; two brothers, Ronald Pryor and David Pryor, both of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren, Ashley Spies, Brittany (Spies) Christophel, Tyler Spies, Katelyn Spies, Meghan Reed, Rachel Shirk and Matthew Shirk and one great grandchild, Bentley Christophel.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Gary Zook officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 P.M.
