Edna Lee (Gall) Jones, 79, of Hagerstown, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Born July 8, 1933 Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Charles Herman and Maybelle Edna (Norris) Gall.
She was a member of the Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church and Mt. Aetna School and Home School where she was a leader and board decorator. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and TOPS. Edna enjoyed crafts, sewing, hostessing, and gardening. She was very proud of being a Seventh-day Adventist.
Edna had worked as an administrative secretary for the President of General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist, in Silver Spring, MD. She also worked in the Office of Civil Defense and Mobilization of Federal Government in Olney, MD. Edna once worked for the Chrysler Corporation, in College Park, where she was a secretary to direct the regional fleet sales for the company.
Edna is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Pelton Noel Jones; a daughter, Deborah L. Jones of Hagerstown; a son, Charles M. Jones of Berkeley Springs, WV; a sister, Charlotte L. Allen and husband Floyd of Cumberland; 8 grandchildren, Leah Anderson of Fredericksburg, VA; Danielle Wohlgemuth of Baltimore, MD, EllaVay M. Loftin and husband Derek of Little Rock, AK, David W. Jones and wife Brianne of Hagerstown, Dustin A. Wohlgemuth of Hagerstown, Samuel E. Jones of Ocean Shoes, WA; David T. Jones of Hagerstown, Max Petrie of Hagerstown; 8 great-grandchildren, Vivian Anderson, Daniel Anderson, Amelia Anderson, Blaze Jones, Denver Jones, Haddon Loftin, Adrionna Loftin and Gary Loftin; a sister-in-law, Ellen Ruth Smith of Rooster, OH; two brothers- in-law, Sidney Palmer Jones and Leon Preston Jones both of Durham, NC; and an aunt, Lelia Norris of Laurel, MD.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Gary Jones and David Jones.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church, 11507 Robinwood Dr., Hagerstown, MD 21742 with the Pastor Christopher Holland officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Friday from 6-8pm at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
