Eleanora Patricia Anderson

Eleanora Patricia (Schleder) Anderson, 93, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in Hedgesville, WV, where she lived with her daughter.
She was born in McKees Rocks, PA on June 13, 1922, the daughter of John C. R. Schleder and Anna (Simitz) Schleder. In addition to her parents and a younger brother, Edward Schleder, she was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Francis M. “Andy” Anderson, and an infant daughter.
She lived for many years in various parts of the greater Pittsburgh area, moving to Hagerstown, MD in 1962 and retiring in Lake Wales, FL in 1989. After her husband’s passing in 2003, she moved to Homewood of Williamsport to be near her family.
She worked briefly as a beautician and a real estate agent, but was primarily a homemaker for her husband and children. In her spare time, she loved to sing and perform in local theatre and retirement communities where she lived.
She is survived by a brother, John R. Schleder, 96, of Columbus, OH, and a sister, Anne (Schleder) Bahl, 98, of Bryn Mawr, PA. She is also survived by her children, David M. Anderson (Pamela) of Chalfont, PA; Richard F. Anderson of Cavetown, MD; Patricia T. Smith (Robert) of Fairfield, PA; and Barbara E. McCormick (Michael) of Hedgesville, WV; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Inurnment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and again following the burial.
