Eugene Lynn Bitner

Eugene Lynn "Lotto" Bitner, 74, of Hagerstown, died on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at his home.
Born Jan. 24, 1938, in Chewsville, Md., he was the son of the late Roy Jacob and Rosie Mae (Witmer) Bitner.
He had worked as a group leader for the Washington County Parks Dept. Eugene had previously worked as a sander in the furniture department of Brandt's in Hagerstown and as a delivery man for Michael's Ice, formerly in Hagerstown.
Eugene loved the outdoors, especially working in his yard and going hunting or fishing. He also had a passion for classic cars.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Helen Louise (Huntzberry) Bitner; a daughter, Lynnette Suzanne "Suzy" Sease and her husband, Brian Eric Sease, whom Eugene loved as the son he never had, of Waynesboro, Pa.; three sisters, Catherine Snyder, Helen Glaze and Mary Marie Carter all of Hagerstown; a close friend, Wayne Jenkins of Hagerstown; several nieces; nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Edward, Guy and Harold Bitner.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 16, in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Chaplain Jim Hay officiating. Interment will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made in Eugene's name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742 or to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
