Evelyn Hope Shrader

Evelyn â??Hopeâ? (Showe) Shrader, 90, of Day Road in Hagerstown, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Emeritus Senior Living.
Born April 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Mary Josephine (Strode) and Frisby Branton Showe.

She was the widow of Jack Leroy Shrader Sr., who died Dec. 16, 1996.
Hope graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1940. She was employed at Fairchild Aircraft for 11 years. She then went on to work at WCARC for 17 years, retiring in 1984.
She was an active member at St. Paulâ??s Lutheran Church in Funkstown since 1937. She also was a member of Women United of Washington County and Women of ELCA.
Hope is survived by a son, Jack Leroy Shrader Jr. and wife, Mary â??P.J.â?; three granddaughters, Meghan, Chelsa and Jacqueline, all of Annapolis; and several beloved nephews, other extended family and her church friends.
Hope was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack, Joe, Richard and Max Showe; and one sister, Capitola Johnston.
A funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Michael Louia officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
