E. June Sword, 90, of Hagerstown, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
Born May 2, 1928 near Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Russell Elgin and Pearl Virginia (Keller) Stouffer.
She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School and attended Hagerstown Junior College.
She worked for many years in the office of the Hagerstown Shoe Co. She was a volunteer for many civic organizations. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church as well as AARP.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Grover B. Sword; one son, Terry Lee Sword and wife Debra of Forest Hill, MD; two grandchildren, Brandon Lee Sword and wife Megan of Havre de Grace, MD, Brooke Suzanne Sword-Hagerman and husband Aaron of Watertown, Mass.; a great-granddaughter, Madison Nicole Sword of Havre de Grace; a sister, Madaline V. Nelson of Clovis, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Leona S. Dick of Fresno, CA.; and two brothers, Laurence and Nelson Stouffer, both of Greencastle.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30am in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, on Friday, June 8, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742 or to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
