Frederick Forthman Keefer Jr., 96, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at his home.
Born May 16, 1915, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Frederick F. Sr. and Emma Belle (Kreps) Keefer.
Mr. Keefer was a jeweler and watch repairman for more than 50 years with Saums Jewelers and Melart Jewelers, both of Hagerstown.
He was a member of Zion Reformed United Church of Christ, Hagerstown.
He loved traveling and tinkering with his collection of pocket watches.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Elizabeth (Cromer) Keefer; one son, Frederick F. Keefer III, at home; one brother, William Keefer and wife, Janice, of Hagerstown; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at 12:30 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Kevin Munroe officiating.
Friends will be received at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, on Tuesday one hour prior to services.
