Foster Paul Sonny Householder, Jr.

Foster Paul "Sonny" Householder, Jr. of Williamsport, MD passed away suddenly at age 70 on Monday November 19, 2018. Born on March 2,1948 he was the beloved son of the late Foster Householder Sr. and Santa Elizabeth Householder of Williamsport, MD. Foster was a Bronze Star Recipient and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1972 after serving in Vietnam. Foster then began his working career with the A&P Corporation and worked in various cities along the East Coast. He relocated to their Corporate Headquarters in Montvale, NJ where he met his former wife Carla with whom he had four children. He relocated to Sparta, NJ and continued his career with Offray Ribbon and Hartz Mountain Corporation. At the time of his death, he was employed in the hotel industry in Hagerstown, MD. While living in Sparta he was a founding member of Saint Kateri Parish and served as a Cubmaster for Troop 295. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and a good conversation.

Foster is survived by his children Marissa DeVita and her husband David of Horsham PA, Joseph Foster of Sparta, Vincent Paul of Sparta and Mariel and her fianc James of New York City. He is also survived by his mother Elizabeth of Williamsport, his sisters Linda (George) of Maryland and Gina Groh (Steve) of CharlesTown, West Virginia and nephews George, David, Stephen and Michael and their families. Foster leaves behind three beautiful grandchildren - Madelyn, Anthony and Nicholas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Foster on Saturday, December 1st at 10:00 at Saint Kateri Church in Sparta. A Memorial Service will be held in Maryland in January followed by a spring Interment at Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery at dates to be decided by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sparta Ambulance or to the Sparta VFW.
