Francis Zane Pheil

Hagerstown, MD Francis "Rusty" Zane Pheil, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away, Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born September 29, 1927 in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Frank Lester and Hattie Marie (Ensminger) Pheil. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by one grandson, Dwight Lynn Sandeen.
Mr. Pheil retired from the City of Hagerstown where he served as a city policeman.
He was a US Marine Corps veteran of WW II.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Teresa Irene (Sprecher) Pheil; three children, Terri Lee Pheil, Nina Susan Sandeen and Jeffrey Francis Pheil, all of Hagerstown; two grandsons, Jeffrey Francis Pheil, II and Kenneth Francis Pheil, both of Hagerstown and one great granddaughter, Kenleigh Nicole Evans.
Graveside services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown is in charge of the arrangements.
