Frank Michael Maietta
June 27, 1931 — January 20, 2017
Frank M. Maietta, Sr. 85, of Hagerstown, Md. entered into God's Kingdom on Friday, January 20, 2017 from his home, while under hospice care from Alzheimer's Disease.
He was born June 27, 1931 in Italy. At the age of 2, his family settled in Williamsport, Pa. He was the son of the late, Anthony and Josephine Maietta.
Frank was in the trucking business having owned Maietta Contractors with his late brother, Dennis Maietta. He was the manager of Kay Trucking for 24 years. Frank was a US Army veteran and often talked about having served in Korea. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Hagerstown.
Surviving family are his loving wife, Donna Kay Maietta; Beamer, our precious little dog; one brother, Donald Maietta of Andover, Massachusetts; four sons, Tony Maietta (Peggi), Denny Maietta, Frank Maietta, Jr. (Jo) and Patrick Maietta; two daughters, Gina Scheider (Patrick Anderson) and Mary Perkins (Dave); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday 26, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Richard Shives officiating.
Friends will be received on Thursday one hour prior to services.
A special thank you is extended to Hospice of Washington County for their unending care, support, love, devotion and compassion for the last four months. During the last several weeks, Hospice was constantly present for Frank and Donna for every possible need in this very difficult and overwhelming time. Thank you to Dr. Beckwith for his continuous care for Frank, also.
