Freda M. Sweeney, of Hagerstown, passed away, Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born September 21, 1922 in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late, John S. and Ella Mae (Bowlus) Jones. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Walter "Jim" Sweeney; a grandson, Jon Mobley and ten brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Sweeney was a mother and homemaker and attended Paramount Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Jo Ann Sweeney of Maugansville; two sons, Ron and Chris Sweeney both of Hagerstown; two grandchildren, Tod Mobley and Amy Thompson; three great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Larry Rickard officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Freda's name to the Hagerstown Union Rescue Mission, 125 N. Prospect St., Hagerstown, MD 21740 or to Martinsburg Union Rescue Mission, 602 W. King St., Martinsburg, WV 25401
