Gene Etheridge

Eugene "Gene" Etheridge, Jr., 73, formerly of Broadfording Rd., Hagerstown, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019, at North Hampton Manor, in Frederick.
Born June 4, 1945, in Macon, Georgia, he was the son of the late Erma Jean (Harris) Etheridge and Eugene Etheridge, Sr.
Gene worked as a truck driver for over 40 years; driving for Ryder/P-I-E , Bowman, and Roadway.
Gene was a member of Evangel Baptist Church in Hagerstown. He was also a Freemason.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Linda (Reed) Etheridge, of Waynesboro; a son, Eugene A. Etheridge of Ohio; two step children, Scott Mowbray of Williamsport, Mendie Boward of Waynesboro; three siblings, Paul, Mary, and Angie; and 10 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Ronald Faith officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gene's name to Evangel Baptist Church, 17922 Broadfording Rd, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
