Genevieve Carolyn Houpt

Genevieve Carolyn Houpt, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, August 6, 2020.

Born on November 10, 1932 in Pearre, MD, Genevieve was the daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Ada Louise (Sipes) Hofe.

Genevieve was a member of Beaver Creek Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, and baking.

Genevieve is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Merle Luther Houpt. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde Hofe and Kenneth Hofe; and her sisters, Violet Grove, Alene May, Lorraine Carter, and Ruth Moore.

Genevieve is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Line (Martin) of Hagerstown; and Donna Miller (Russ) of Hancock. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Louise Hess, of Hagerstown. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alan Line (Ren); Kristi Pangborn (Drew); Jenna Line; Jennifer Webber; and Bryce Miller (Natalie). She is also survived by two great-granddaughters, Eve and Charleston Webber, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Jennifer Webber officiating. Attendees are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Genevieve's name to FUMC Bryan, 506 E 28th Street, Bryan, TX 77803; Beaver Creek Christian Church of Hagerstown; or Hospice of Washington County.
