Genevieve Marie Genny Kotun

Genevieve "Genny" Marie Kotun, 79, of Hagerstown, died on Monday, February 20, 2017.
Born February 6, 1938 in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late Earl Edward and Marie June (Dagenhart) Smith.
She was a graduate of Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. She taught at Hagerstown Community College and then Kaplan University for 30 years. Genny was a member of Tri State Fellowship, where she served on the Women's Ministry Council, Retreat Committee and Library Committee.
In addition to her parents, Genny was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Paul Kotun, who died in 1994, and her son, Stefan Paul Kotun., who died in 2002.
She is survived by four brothers, Earl Edward Smith, Jr. of Chandler, AZ, Charles Allen Smith of Falling Waters, WV., Donald Lee Smith of Hagerstown, and Gregory Lynn Smith of Greencastle.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Tri State Fellowship, 13153 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown. The family will receive friends following the service at church for fellowship and refreshments.
The burial will be private at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Genny's name to Tri State Fellowship or Hospice of Washington County.
