George Klipp, Sr.

George H. Klipp, Sr., 78 of Deltona, FL., passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 29, 2016 in Orange City, FL., while being comforted by his daughter and son-in-law.
George was born in Hagerstown, on March 19, 1938 to Herbert L. Klipp and Gladys T. (Mumma) Benner.
George graduated from Hagerstown High School, class of 1956.
After graduation, George joined the United States Navy and served 6 years aboard the USS Wasp. He was proud to have served his country.
George retired from Long Haul Truck Driving with over 30 years on the road.
George was a very outgoing and likable person. He never met a stranger. He also had a great sense of humor. Nobody was safe from his off-the-cuff remarks.
George was predeceased by a son, William "Billy" Klipp and his former wife; always the love of his life, Glenda Haden.
Left to carry on his legacy are his daughter, Kimberly Tarner, (Timothy) and son George Klipp, Jr. (Cindy), 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Flannigan; and his favorite granddogs, Barney and BamBam.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 PA. Ave., Hagerstown. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-9pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
