George Wendell Lynch, Jr., 65, of Hagerstown, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Doey's House after a battle with Stage 4 cancer for several years.
Born on June 28, 1956 in Hagerstown, he was the son of Judy "Minnie" (Turner) Morehead and the late George Wendell Lynch, Sr.
George graduated from Williamsport High School, class of 1974.
He worked for Volve (Mack Truck) as an assembler.
Golf was his passion. If you couldn't find him, look on the golf course. He was always looking for that hole in one. He was a person that would have a conversation with anyone about any topic.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Joyce Ann (Hovermale) Lynch; Step-daughter, Julie Reed (Michael), Grandson, Joshua Reed, which he adored and will miss his pappy very much; Siblings, Kathy Mikolajczyk (Bill Bosch), Robert Lynch, Mary Lynch and Debbie Lynch all of Hagerstown; Brother in laws, Gary Hovermale of Hagerstown, Allen Hovermale (Denise) of Little River, SC, and Kenneth Hovermale of Hagerstown, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11 AM at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Jim Gross officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Family will receive friends one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Rd., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
They family would like to thank Doey's House for taking good care of George in his final days.
